Veteran record producer and music executive Don Jazzy has expressed concern over the lack of reception for female musicians in Nigeria.

The Mavin Records boss noted that despite the hard work put in by female artists, Nigerians do not consume their music as much as that of their male counterparts.

The issue was raised by a netizen with the handle @Lahon199x, who pointed out that Nigerian female artists have a better chance of becoming global A-listers than achieving the same status within Nigeria’s music industry.

Reposting the tweet, Don Jazzy commented, “And it’s so sad. The women put in soooo much work.”
