Don’t Appoint Failed Governors in Your Cabinet – Northern Group Tells Tinubu
The Northern Progressives Union (NPU) group under the All Progressives Congress (APC) has told President Bola Tinubu not to appoint failed ex-northern governors as ministers in his cabinet.
NPU issued the advice on Monday in a statement signed by Mohammed Kiyawa.
They described those set of former governors as “failed politicians, disgruntled leaders, and spent forces.”

The group particularly named former Jigawa state governor, Mohammed Badaru as one of the unfit former governors.
According to them, their demand was legitimate as some former governors were moles who worked against the APC during the 2023 general election.
The Northern group accused some former governors of not spending the money disbursed to them for the election which made the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secure more votes in the region “when the APC should have won by landslide.”
In light of these allegations, the NPU has urged President Tinubu to consider appointing fresh and competent individuals who align with the Renewed Hope agenda.
The group believed that the move will ensure the success of the Tinubu administration and the APC party as a whole.
