A Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Dutsinma, CSP Bello Gusau, is facing investigation for allegedly taking a 15-year-old girl detained at the police station to his house, where she spent the night.
According to a complaint filed by the International Human Right Today Initiative (HRTI), the DPO’s actions were unethical and potentially criminal.
The organization’s leader, Comrade Maiyasin, stated that they conducted a thorough investigation and gathered evidence confirming that the girl spent the night at the DPO’s residence and not at the police station.

Maiyasin said, “The Katsina State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Musa, has taken the matter very seriously. As a result, he set up an investigative committee and suspended the DPO from his duties pending the outcome of the investigation.”
The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed that an investigation is ongoing into the allegations.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, said, “The complaint was received, and an investigation is ongoing to reveal the truth and ensure justice is served.”

A gang of gunmen have attacked and killed a police officer in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to reports, the event was reported to have happened on Sunday, October 13 at about 1am, when the crew where on their way for an operation.
