Each video carried the caption: “Please settle your loans,” serving as a public reminder to those listed to clear their debts.

The move has ignited a broader conversation about the methods loan companies use to recover debts and the implications for personal privacy in the digital age.

While some supported the app’s efforts to recover unpaid loans, others criticized the approach as unethical and a violation of privacy.

A user, Emmabest, commented, “Most of these persons are not aware of this loan. Suddenly they received a call asking them to pay back the money they borrowed.”

Nigeria Receives World Bank $1.5bn Loan for Subsidy Removal, Tax Reforms

The Washington-based World Bank has granted Nigeria a $1.5 billion foreign loan.

The loan was granted as part of the federal government’s effort to implement fuel subsidy removal and tax reforms.
