The Department of State Services (DSS) has detained Hon. Ladi Adebutu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 Ogun State elections.

Adebutu was reportedly taken into custody on Monday, November 18, 2024, under circumstances that remain unclear.

In a statement issued by the PDP’s Publicity Secretary, Arc. Kayode Adebayo, the party expressed alarm over the detention, emphasizing that the reasons for Adebutu’s arrest have not been disclosed.

Attempts to secure his release, either through personal recognition or a surety, have thus far been unsuccessful.
