The Department of State Service (DSS) has taken into custody Dr. Kingsley Obiora, the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Multiple sources confirm that Obiora, in charge of economics, has been in DSS custody for four nights.

He was taken in for questioning over suspected financial mismanagement under ousted erstwhile CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele.

Recall that Emefiele has been in DSS custody since June 10, 2023, after his removal from office by President Bola Tinubu.

Despite two federal judges ordering his release, the SSS has persisted in finding new grounds to hold him, often filing fresh charges.
