Ajaero was arrested by security operatives on Monday while on his way to the United Kingdom for union business and was quizzed for over 15 hours.
The NLC had given the government a midnight ultimatum in solidarity with their embattled leader, but the DSS succumbed to pressure and Ajaero was released before the ultimatum elapsed.
Speaking with newsmen, Counsel to the NLC, Femi Falana said, “Ajaero’s passport was released today through my colleague, Abubakar Marshall. It has been handed over to him.”
