A frontline activist for youthful representation in governance, Yangaboy Erekedoumene has called on stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party to support the ambition of Justice Timi Akuna.
Akuna is an aspirant for the Burutu North Constituency seat at the Delta State House of Assembly ahead the 2023 elections.
Yangaboy, in a statement made available to Daily Report Nigeria, pointed out that “a generational shift is needed in Burutu politics”.

The National Coordinator of Save Ijaw Nation, hence called on critical stakeholders to support the youthful representation Akuna will offer Burutu North.
Yangaboy said;
“Global politics is fast winding down from the older generation of political ideologies to modern ideologies which agree with the socio-economic and political realities in our contemporary computer society.
“There have been a widespread campaign and clamour for youth representation in leadership offices in the Nigerian State and the Burutu local government council is not an exception in this clamour.
“It is time for the youths to bring modern leadership ideas and visions which meet contemporary demands into play and this could only be done when youths with proven capacity are allowed to lead in both public and private sectors.
“Politicking among politicians on who gets what in 2023 general elections has begun and Hon Justice Timiadi Akuna, a ready youth with capacity has indicated his interest in running for Burutu North State constituency representative in Delta State House of Assembly under the Delta State and Burutu leading political party, PDP.
“All things considered equal, I humbly call on our respected Burutu leaders Pa Clark, Pa P.Y Biakpara, Chief (Dr.) Braduce Amakazi Angozi, Hon Solomon Funkekeme, Hon Asupa Peter Forteta, Hon Ekioemi Zuokumor, Hon Franc Enekorogha, Hon Daniel Yingi, Hon Paul Kurugbe, Hon Ebike Oromoni, Hon Shedrack Agediga and others whose love for youths has never been in doubt to seize this opportunity to support Hon Justice Timiadi Akuna in his golden vision.
“It is an opportunity to showcase their good product that studied leadership under their tutelage.
“It is time to move Burutu to our present technological generation and this forms the background of Hon Timiadi’s manifesto. We must shun analogue and go digital in leadership. Yes, Hon Akuna can and will midwife the needed paradigm shift.
“Hon Timiadi is poised towards equipping the youths to meet our modern needs and this cannot be done only with the mere pairing of two or three loyalists in a small contract but through conscious employment, skill and academic emancipation.
“It will only be fair when our respected leaders, fathers, mothers and youths both in the PDP and the Burutu local council at large give total support to Hon Akuna to flag up the emancipation project for the good of all.
“Hon Timiadi Justice Akuna remains the right man for the Burutu North DTHA-2023 Job,” the statement added.
The Burutu North Constituency is currently occupied by Asupa Forteta, who defeated his predecessor, Daniel Yingi and others at the 2019 polls.
