The All Progressives Congress’ candidate for the Burutu North Constituency in the race to the Delta State House of Assembly, Alapala Anthony Ebitonmo, on Wednesday, visited Gbekebor, ahead of the 2023 election.

Alapala was greeted with fanfare and given a heroic welcome at his hometown as he continues to consult round the constituency.

Addressing the people, the former Delta APC Youth Leader said his ambition is hinged on the quest to see a better living condition for his people.

He lamented how despite playing key roles in the political affairs of Burutu Local Government, the people have remained relegated, forgotten and marginalized.

Alapala said the visit was to formally inform his kinsmen he was in the race for the seat and not a campaign.

Alapala said:

“I have come to officially inform you my people that I have been mandated by the APC to fly its flag for the Burutu North Constituency in 2023.

“My people, be rest assured that this mandate is your mandate because I know and feel the pains of rejection and marginalization we all face.

“I have not come to campaign today, but know that I have your interest and development at heart and that is the passion that drives my ambition.”

On his part, Engr. Theodore Ezonfade stressed the need for Alapala’s kinsmen to align with as his ambition as it is a route for liberation.

‘We have long clamored for liberation for our people. Alapala is that liberation. We must throw our weights behind him before, during the election,’ he said.

The people, who turned out in their numbers, assured the former five-time chairman of the community of their support.

They described him as an answer to their prayers for liberation, development, progress.

Prayers were led by the Amaokosu-owei of Gbekebor alongside various spiritual heads.

Alapala was accompanied by his Campaign Director, Sir Theodore Ezonfade, Napoleon Kenerekedi – Delta APC Youth Leader, Rebuen Selekeowei Dubasuode – Burutu APC Youth Leader, Ebiere Kiyagha, Cyprain Tonfa and Dcn Tare Ekemieyefa.

Others are Mark Otutufegha, Hon. Edmund Forcados, Engr. Freeborn Owolo, and Eric Akari.
