DTHA: Guwor Dedicates Victory, Emergence as Speaker to God

Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, on Sunday, dedicated his reelection and successful inauguration as the Presiding Officer of the 8th Delta Assembly to God.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that Guwor at a well attended service held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCC, Redeemed Hall Mega Parish, Warri, expressed gratitude to God for the elevation from not just a member of the Assembly but Speaker of the House.

The lawmaker representing Warri South Constituency also sought God’s direction as he leads the affairs of the legislature in the state.

Dignitaries at the event were led by former Delta Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and his deputy, Kingsley Otuaro, joined by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the First Lady, Tobore, as well as the wife of incumbent Deputy Governor Dame Katrina Onyeme,

representative of Governor of Taraba State, Speakers of some States Houses of Assembly, including Bauchi, Benue, Pleatue, Taraba, Enugu, Edo, Anambra, Bayelsa, Oyo, Osun, and Cross River states, immediate past Governor of the State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, and his Deputy, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, and serving and former members of the National and State Assembly, were in attendance.

Others include the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Theresa Diai, traditional rulers, Party Chieftains, Community and Religious Leaders, Captains of Industries, Opinion Leaders and other top government functionaries within and outside Delta State.

In his remark, Governor Oborevwori said it was a thing of joy to join the his former colleague in thanksgiving and congratulated him on his elevation to Speaker.

Oborevrwori urged Guwor to trust in God for wisdom and strength to succeed as Speaker, even as he admonished him to remain humble, transparent, accountable and a servant leader.

On his part, Guwor, who was flanked by the wife, Timiebi, said it was good to thank God and attributed what he is today to the mercies of God.

The Speaker paid glowing tributes to the immediate past Deputy Governor of the state, Kingsley Otuaro who he said was instrumental in his voyage into politics.

High point of the service was the special thanksgiving by the Speaker, joined by the Governor and other well wishers.

A reception was later held for guests at the KFT event center which also had in attendance many important personalities across the country.
