Journalists and observers assigned to monitor the ongoing rerun election in Burutu Constituency I in Delta State have been barred from accessing the polling unit.
Journalists accredited by the Independent National Electoral Commission from Gbaramatuvoice International and Daily Report Nigeria were threatened and assaulted out of the Ayakoromor Unit 8.
Also, observers from the Centre For Strategic Conflict Management were driven out of by security personnel.
The development led to an uproar amid protest from some members of the community, who kicked against the move to deprive journalists access to the election venue.
