Eze grew up in Greenwich and began his senior career at QPR after leaving Arsenal’s academy.
Palace bought him for £19.5m in 2020. He scored 40 goals in 169 games for Palace.
Last season he finished with 14 goals and 11 assists, including the FA Cup final winner. He won his first England cap in June 2023.
Spurs tried to sign him, but Palace held off so Eze could play against Fredrikstad. Arsenal had watched him for months.
When Kai Havertz suffered a knee injury, Arsenal moved quickly and placed a bid on Wednesday.
Eze then picked the Gunners. Fans even saw Eze shirts outside the Emirates before the paperwork wrapped up.
After the move, Eze thanked Palace supporters and spoke about recovering from a torn Achilles. He wrote:
“Palace will live in my heart forever.”
The switch pushes Arsenal’s summer spending past £200m and gives Arteta new attacking options as he chases his first trophy in five seasons.
For Palace, the sale hurts on the pitch but again shows the club can develop and sell talent.
Meanwhile, Eze was at the Emirate stadium to watch Arsenal clash against Leeds United which ended 5-0 today’s evening.
