The Appeal Court has adjourned the ongoing case between Olorogun David Edevbie and Sheriff Oborevwori.

The duo are at loggerheads over the authentic governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State.

DAILY REPORT recalls Oborevwori was declared winner of the governorship primary held in May at Asaba, the Delta State capital.

But Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja disqualified the Delta State House of Assembly over discrepancies in his certificates.

In his judgment on July 7, Justice Taiwo also asked the party and the Independent National Electoral Commission to replace Oborevwori’s name with Edevbie’s.

However, the case was appealed by Oborevwori, with both parties served case documents in its last hearing on August 1.

Meanwhile, the Appeal Court has now told both parties that a date for judgment will be communicated to them.

The lingering case has until September 5 before it elapses as stipulated in the Constitution with regards to pre-election matters.
