Kenneth Imasuagbon, the only remaining challenger of Governor Godwin Obaseki for the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, has stepped down.
Kenneth stepped down in the race for the governorship candidates as delegates were on their way to Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, the venue for the PDP primaries.

Sources gathered says that Governor Obaseki and Imasuagbon had met behind closed doors in the early hours of Thursday, at the Government House in Benin, the Edo state capital.

Last Friday ,Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama and Gideon Ikhine had stepped down for Obaseki, who defected to PDP from the All Progressive Congress (APC), before getting a waiver by members of the National Working Committee (NWC) to contest in the primary.
The PDP’s governorship primary has outrightly become a mere formality as Godwin Obaseki is contesting unopposed.
