Edo State Chief Judge, Joe Acha has retired from the state judicial service at the age of 65.
Justice Daniel Okungbowa, who was sworn in as the acting Chief Judge on the same day, praised his Acha for his integrity and reputation.
Governor Godwin Obaseki presided over the swearing-in ceremony on Friday.

A valedictory court session was held in honour of retiring Acha at the state High Court in Benin.
Faith Osadolor, the solicitor general and permanent secretary, state Ministry of Justice, praised the retiring chief judge for his honesty, integrity, resilience, and cerebral sagacity.
Speaking at the event, Acha expressed his gratitude to former governors Adams Oshiomhole and Lucky Igbinedion, the secretary of the Judicial Service Commission, Julius Aikusr, and others for their support.
He was sworn in on May 16, 2021, and confirmed as the substantive chief judge on October 6, 2021.
