The office of the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has been sealed off by police amid escalating political tensions between him and Governor Godwin Obaseki.
A heavy police presence was reported on Sunday at the office located on Osadebe Avenue in Benin City, where stern officers were seen alongside a machine gun-mounted police truck.
This development follows a recent standoff that led to the relocation of Shaibu’s office from the Government House. As of Sunday, the entry gate remained closed, effectively restricting access to the office.
