INEC Deleted Presidential Election Results on BVAS Machine, Witness Tells Trinunal

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is ready to deploy over 5,000 Bimodal Voter Accreditation Systems (BVAS) for the Edo State governorship election scheduled for Saturday.

Sensitive materials, including ballot papers and result sheets, have arrived in the state and are being transported to secure storage facilities under tight security.

INEC has also increased its financial support to transport unions for election logistics and has been engaging with stakeholders to ensure a transparent and inclusive electoral process.

Also, the Nigeria Police Force (NAF) has announced the deployment of 35,000 officers to the state, with an additional 8,000 personnel expected to join other security agencies.

To ensure a hitch-free exercise, the police revealed that drones, helicopters, and other equipment have also been deployed.

The election is expected to be closely contested, with 17 political parties participating and three leading contenders.

They include Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP).
