The licence, handed over to the refinery’s Head of Technical Operations, Segun Okeni, enables the plant to fully operate as a refinery.

According to the NMDPRA’s Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Farouk, “The issuance of the operational licence is the final stage of approval from the regulatory authority.

This implies that the plant can now fully operate as a refinery.” Farouk commended the company for achieving the feat and urged them to do more.

Okeni assured the management of the refinery that the regulatory authority is a business enabler and would support AIPCC Energy/Edo Refinery in all its projects.

He also disclosed that the company is developing three other projects, with one to be completed next year.
