EDO2020: INEC Delivers Non-Sensitive Materials To 18 LGs

Ahead of the forthcoming Edo Governorship election slated for September 19, 2020, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has confirmed the delivery of Non-sensitive materials to the 18 Local Government Areas of Edo state.

Disclosed by INEC Public Affairs Officer for Edo state, Mrs. Tina Obamogie confirmed the receipt of the delivery of the materials to the various destinations within the state, while speaking during a media interview.

Mrs. Tina also said that the commission would use the 2019 voters register for the forthcoming election which has 2,210,334 registered voters, while noting there would be no distribution of Permanent Voters Card due to COVID-19 outbreak in the country.

No fewer than 14 political parties will be participating in the Governorship election, while Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) appears to be the major contenders for the governorship seat.

Other contenders included; Igbineweka Osamuede of the Allied Peoples Movement, Lucky Idehen of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Ibio Emmanuel of the African Democratic Congress, and Obhafuoso Paul of the Action Alliance.
