Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has released a powerful new song titled Ojoro INEC, directly questioning the independence of the country’s electoral commission.
The track, which dropped on Friday, casts doubt on whether the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) truly operates without political influence, hinting it may be swayed by the current administration.
In the song, Eedris raises concerns about INEC’s recent actions regarding the Permanent Voter Card (PVC), suggesting these moves reflect undue control rather than impartiality. His lyrics challenge the commission’s decisions and call out what he perceives as manipulation of the electoral process.

He sings lines like:
“E be like say INEC dey work for Tinubu / E be like say INEC dey work for APC / If na lie / Why you go legalise voting without PVC / If na lie / Why you no wan register political parties / If na lie / Why you no wan use electronic vote / If na lie / Why you dey use judiciary to suppress us.”
Eedris has long used his music as a platform for political commentary. In mid-2024, he released Emilokan, a track criticizing Pastor Enoch Adeboye, urging the cleric to be outspoken about the Tinubu government as he was during Goodluck Jonathan’s presidency.
Earlier this year, he also dropped Tell Your Papa, addressing Seyi Tinubu with a plea to inform his father of Nigerians’ struggles. That song was later banned by the National Broadcasting Commission for violating broadcasting rules.
With Ojoro INEC, Eedris continues his outspoken approach, using his art to question the fairness and transparency of Nigeria’s electoral system.
