Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Makurdi have arrested Dr. Mkor Aondona, the Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Documentation, Research, and Planning, over grave allegations of sextortion and cyberbullying.
Dr. Aondona was apprehended on Friday, June 20, after a group of female students submitted a petition detailing how he allegedly abused his office to exploit young women under the guise of offering ushering roles.
According to the complaints, the victims claimed they were lured with promises of legitimate campus jobs, only to be pressured into providing sexual favours as a condition for selection. One petitioner revealed that he secretly recorded the sexual acts and used the footage to blackmail them for repeated encounters.

“He would say, ‘If you refuse, I’ll leak the videos,’” a victim told investigators.
The EFCC disclosed that some of the videos were already being circulated on multiple messaging platforms, sparking wider concerns over privacy, consent, and cyber exploitation.
