During the raid, EFCC operatives recovered several items, including three trucks loaded with sacks of material suspected to be ground lithium powder. In addition, a Toyota 4Runner SUV, mobile phones, various ATM cards, international passports, four LED flashlights, and several samples believed to be low-grade lithium and other yet-to-be-identified solid minerals were also seized.
The EFCC has intensified its efforts in curbing illegal mining operations across the country, particularly in areas known for rich mineral deposits.
Investigations are currently ongoing, and the suspects are expected to be charged to court as soon as the probe is concluded.
