The agency also asked to be informed of any attempt for Obiano to travel out of the country from any of the International airports and other points of entry and exit.

Obiano’s Commissioner for Information, Don Adinuba, had dared agency, saying his boss would return to his original US base after leaving office.

Obiano is said to have dashed to the and proceeded to the international airport immediately after handing over to Prof Charles Soludo.

On being sighted at about 8.30pm, immigration officers alerted the EFCC, whose operatives immediately arrested Obiano and took him their office in Lagos.

His arrest was confirmed by EFCV Spokesman Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, who said;

“It is true. He was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport around 8.30pm.”

Obiano served as governor of Anambra State under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, from 2014 to 2022 after succeeding Peter Obi.
