EFCC Nabs 45 Suspected Internet Fraudsters

EFCC to Probe Kwankwanso, Fayose, Odili, Sylva, 9 Other Ex-Govs For N853.8bn Fraud

Operatives from the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have nabbed 45 individuals suspected of Internet fraud.

The arrests took place in Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Monday, March 11, 2024.

According to the EFCC, the operation was based on intelligence regarding the activities of an Organised Cybercrime Syndicate Network (OCSN) operating in that area of the state.

Among the items recovered from the suspects in Lagos were exotic vehicles and sophisticated mobile devices and laptops.

It added that the suspects will face arraignment once the investigations are concluded.

A statement regarding the arrest read:

Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 45 suspected internet fraudsters.

“They were arrested on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Ikorodu, Lagos, following intelligence on the activities of an Organised Cybercrime Syndicate Network, OCSN, operating in that axis of the state.”
