DAILY REPORT NIGERIA reports that Ortom honoured an invitation from the anti-graft agency on Tuesday to answer questions on alleged financial misappropriation during his reign as governor.
Ortom is said to have arrived at the EFCC zonal office around 10:00am in Makurdi the Benue State capital in company of two of his former media aide, Terver Akase and Principal Special Assistant on Special Duties, Abraham Kwanhgu.

However, one of his aides told journalists outside the EFCC office that there was no cause for alarm concerning Ortom’s interrogation by the EFCC.
“It’s a normal routine. And you don’t expect him to just be through in a jiffy answering questions about his eight years administration will surely take some hours. But, he will soon be done,” the aide said.

Recall that Ortom had told his cabinet members not to be wary if he was invited by the EFCC during his valedictory session held at the old banquet hall of Government House, Makurdi prior to his handing over.
Declaring himself as not too cowardly to run from the EFCC, Ortom said;
“Anytime you are invited by EFCC, don’t be afraid to go, as for me I’m not a….coward to run away from EFCC, if they come for me I will follow them.
“I don’t have any investment in Europe all I have are in this state. If I have committed any crime let the person come and show me,” Ortom had said.
