- EFCC has filed a three-count charge against gospel music promoter Eezee Tee over the alleged misappropriation of $443,371 belonging to Mercy Chinwo and Judikay.
- Mercy Chinwo accused Eezee Tee of secretly altering their original 2017 contract and diverting about $345,000 from her music revenue and event proceeds.
- Judikay also alleged financial misconduct, claiming in January that Eezee Tee withheld £800,000 from her earnings during her time with Eezee Conceptz.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a three-count charge against popular gospel music promoter Onyedikachukwu Nwokeabia, widely known as Eezee Tee, over the alleged misappropriation of $443,371.
According to documents filed before the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos, Eezee Tee and his record label, Eezee Conceptz, are accused of fraudulently converting various sums — $112,985, $260,494, and $69,892 — said to belong to gospel singers Mercy Chinwo and Judith ‘Judikay’ Kanayo.

The EFCC stated that the offences violate Sections 280(1)(a) and 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2011.
Mercy Chinwo and Judikay were previously signed to Eezee Conceptz, a label known for pushing some of the biggest names in Nigerian gospel music. Trouble reportedly began when Chinwo raised allegations of contract manipulation against Eezee Tee.
She claimed that he “secretly swapped” the original 2017 contract they signed with another version without her knowledge or consent. The singer also accused him of diverting her revenue, stating that approximately $345,000 from digital platforms and event earnings was unaccounted for.
In her words, he failed to “properly account for or remit her rightful share.”
In a separate case, Judikay, another top gospel artist formerly under the label, alleged in January that Eezee Tee withheld £800,000 from her earnings. Her claims further fueled the controversy surrounding the record label boss, prompting more scrutiny from authorities.
This isn’t the first time the EFCC has acted on the matter. The commission had previously initiated investigations into alleged financial exploitation tied to the complaints brought forward by the two singers.
While the charges have now been formally filed, the EFCC confirmed that no arraignment date has been set as of yet. The case remains open, with the possibility of additional developments as investigations continue.
