Eguavoen Names 23-Man Squad for Super Eagles’ AFCON Qualifiers

Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen has announced a 23-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against the Mediterranean Knights.

Notable absentees from the list are Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen and Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah, both of whom are sidelined due to injuries.

The squad features several regular players, including captain William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Stanley Nwabali, Moses Simon, and Alex Iwobi.

The Super Eagles will first host the Mediterranean Knights at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday, October 11.

They will then travel to Benghazi for the second leg of the encounter at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium on Tuesday, October 15. All players are expected to report to Uyo by Monday, October 7.
