The Nigerian Senate has moved to honour Comrade Ejiro Otarigho, the heroic tanker driver for averting a huge tragedy in Delta State.
Daily Report Nigeria recalls that Mr Ejiro drove a burning tanker from a populated area to a river in Agbarho, Delta State, to prevent a mass destruction on Friday, June 10.
The driver’s exploits have since been greeted with commendations from Nigerians, with many labelling him a superhero.

However, in its plenary on Tuesday, the upper chamber of the Nigerian legislature resolved to honor the courageous fellow.
In a motion moved by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege (APC, Delta Central) and co-sponsored by Senator James Manager (PDP, Delta South) and Senator Peter Nwaoboshi (APC, Delta North), the Senate also recommended Mr Ejiro to President Muhammadu Buhari for national honors.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Daily Report Nigeria, Mr Ejiro had revealed he was yet to come to terms with how the fire started.
