Ekeremor Native Appeals to Petroleum Minister to Support Disabled, Less Privileged

Mr Angiama Godswill, a native of Ekeremor Community has made a passionate appeal to the Hon Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Sen Heineken Lokpobiri (PhD).

Godswill pleaded with Lokpobiri on Monday via the Facebook app to provide monthly stipends to persons living with disabilities and the less privileged in Ekeremor Community.

He, also known as Senator, pointed out the devastating impact of the economic crisis on the most vulnerable members of society, including those with disabilities.

According to him, the high inflation rate has led to exorbitant costs for basic necessities like transportation, food, housing, and healthcare, making it difficult for them to survive.

He believed that Minister’s intervention will greatly help mitigate the effects of the economic hardship and bring some relief to those struggling to make ends meet.

He said:

“Mr. Angiama Godswill who is fondly called Senator is native of Ekeremor Community and hails from Adeneke Quarters wish to use this medium to call on the honorable minister of state petroleum resources Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri (PhD) to provide monthly stipends to persons living with disabilities and the less privileged.

“It’s hard to know where to start when everything seems so devastatingly awful. It’s no longer a concealed fact that, Hardship has taken the center stage in the scheme of things in our nation.

“Disabled people face huge additional costs due to the high and eye watering inflation rate in goods and services. They are the one’s in the firing line as a result of economic crisis
High price increases have been recorded in transportation, feeding, housing, raw materials and health care, among others.
The cost of living is ripping lives apart now.

“It’s on that note I want to us this medium to appeal and call on our honorable minister of state petroleum resources to kindly come to the aid and assistance of the less privileged more especially the people with disabilities in a bid to curb the effect of the hardship which the economy of our dear country has imposed on the aforementioned category of people.
