Calls for formal police and court investigations into El-Rufai’s claims
The 2023 Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has urged that former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai be formally questioned over his claims that the Federal Government is providing monthly allowances and food to bandits as part of “non-kinetic measures.”
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Tuesday, Datti dismissed the rebuttal from the office of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, saying, “If the so-called office of the NSA takes this statement with levity, then Nuhu Ribadu was never a policeman; he is not a qualified lawyer; he should not be in that office.”

Recal hat El-Rufai had described the alleged policy as “kiss-the-bandits,” accusing both the Federal Government and Kaduna State of facilitating bandits with resources.
Datti Baba-Ahmed insisted that proper statements should be filed with the police and the courts to investigate the allegations.
