The remains of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, have arrived in Abuja ahead of her burial.
Hajiya Umma died in Cairo on Friday after a brief illness.
Her grandson and member representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, confirmed the development in a statement, noting that the remains had safely landed in Abuja.

He disclosed that the Janazah (funeral) prayer would be held at the National Mosque Abuja at 1:00 pm, after which she would be laid to rest at Gudu Cemetery in the Apo area of the Federal Capital Territory.

Condolences have continued to pour in, with several prominent figures visiting the family residence to pay their respects.
Among them are the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda; Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda; former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar; former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi; former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami; and Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
