Hon. Muhammad Bello El-Rufa’i, son of former Kaduna Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufa’i and member representing Kaduna North in the House of Representatives, has spoken on the feud between his father and Governor Uba Sani.
In an interview with the BBC Hausa Service, Bello El-Rufa’i stated that reconciling his father and Governor Sani is not his responsibility.
“My work is to focus on helping the people of Kaduna North Constituency,” he said. Bello El-Rufa’i emphasized that his primary assignment is to provide quality representation to the people of Kaduna North.
He, however, expressed his desire for peace between his father and Governor Sani, stating that he likes peace and keeping trust.

“It is not pleasant for us, even if a person is my enemy, I do not want to see him fighting with another enemy of mine, I want peace,” Bello El-Rufa’i said. He also praised his father, describing him as his number one role model.
“In my opinion, there is no one as good as Malam Nasiru politically, he only puts his work first and there is no one I want to be like him, and he is my father, a father is a father.”

Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna state and a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed his growing disillusionment with the party.
Speaking on Monday at the National Conference on Strengthening Democracy in Nigeria, held in Abuja, el-Rufai accused the party’s leadership of straying from its core values and promoting “ineffective” governance.
