El-Salvador President to Probe Self, Ministers over Alleged Bribery | Daily Report Nigeria

El Salvador’s President, Nayib Bukele has declared his intention to investigate allegations of bribery against members of his government, including himself to eradicate corruption in the government.

In a video released on X on Tuesday, Bukele stated that the investigation is part of his administration’s ongoing efforts to tackle corruption in the country.

Bukele, speaking in Spanish which was later translated to English, stated that everyone in attendance was from the executive branch, except for the Attorney General.

He requested publicly that the Attorney General investigate everyone present for allegations of bribery, both retroactively and into the future.

The President went on to affirm his commitment to the fight against corruption, stating that “God willing, our war against corruption will be as successful as our war against the gangs.”

He also made a poignant statement, in which he acknowledged that death is inevitable and that no one can escape it.
