Party insists exercise strengthens 2027 election readiness despite objections to parts of the law.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has commenced free nationwide online membership registration in compliance with provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 mandating political parties to maintain a comprehensive digital register of members.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC said the initiative builds on its membership registration and revalidation exercise launched last month in Abuja.

According to the party, Sections 77 and 82 of the Electoral Act 2026 require political parties to keep an updated digital database of members, issue membership cards, and submit the register to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at least 21 days before primaries, congresses, or conventions.
The ADC disclosed that its new digital portal, accessible at www.adcregistration.ng, is designed to ensure full compliance with the law ahead of the 2027 general elections and internal party activities.
It clarified that manual registration will continue alongside the online process across the country.
The party further stated that only individuals whose details are fully captured and verified in its official digital register will be eligible to vote or be voted for in party primaries.
Members previously registered on older platforms are required to revalidate their information on the new portal to meet updated compliance standards and INEC guidelines.
While reaffirming its commitment to building an inclusive political movement, the ADC maintained that the online registration drive does not negate its objections to certain provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, which it believes favour the ruling party.
The party said the digital initiative is aimed at removing barriers to participation and ensuring seamless, secure enrolment for Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
