Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has returned from his annual leave.
A statement by the CBN spokesperson, Mr. Osita Nwanisobi suggests that Emefiele has resumed office following his leave abroad.
According to Nwanisobi, Emfiele resumed duty with a renewed vigour to perform ahead of the first Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting of the year scheduled for January 23 to 24, 2023.

Daily Report Nigeria recalls that Emefiele proceeded on a scheduled annual leave in December 2022.
DSS denies invading CBN
Meanwhile, the Department of State Services (DSS) has denied invading the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria on Monday.
In a statement by its spokesperson, Dr. Peter Afunanya, the DSS said the story of its invasion of the apex bank was false.
The DSS also maintained that its operatives did not attempt to arrest the CBN governor.
The terse statement by the DSS reads;
“The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to the false news making the round that its operatives invaded the Central Bank of Nigeria and arrested its Governor, today 16/1/23.
“This is fake news and quite misleading”.
