#EndBadGovernance: Jos Group Suspends Street Protests for Dialogue

The Jos #EndBadGovernance protest 2024 group has temporarily suspended its demonstration for a two-day period, effective from August 4 to August 6.

The group’s decision was announced by the its spokesperson, Enoch Vilret, during a press briefing in Jos on Sunday.

According to Vilret, the suspension is aimed at creating an opportunity for dialogue with relevant stakeholders, as suggested by President Bola Tinubu in his national broadcast on Sunday.

He added that the group remain committed to its cause and is hopeful that this brief suspension will lead to constructive discussions.

The Spokesman, however, stated that if the talks do not materialize within the specified timeframe, the coalition will resume its peaceful protests.

Vilret stressed that the group strongly condemns any form of violence or destruction and calls on security forces to hold accountable those engaging in such activities.

He reiterated the group’s dedication to peaceful advocacy and urged Nigerians to remain law-abiding, holding onto the hope of a greater Nigeria.
