Some street beggars have lamented over the hardship going on in the country, adding that the protest has made things worse for them.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) one of the beggars, Baba Haliru, 70 who resides in Kano State has lamented on how hard it has been to survive, adding that he and his family feed on alms he bags for.

Baba Haliru added that since the commencement of the protest, he has bit been able to get alms like before.
“We have not eaten anything in our household of 14 for two days in the last four days except water,” he lamented.
”For God’s sake, please reach out to those who organized the protests to end them by negotiating with the government.”

Other beggars also shared their opinion on the matter,
Malama Mario Kabiru of Hotoro quarters said:
“We have run out of foodstuffs and we can’t go out to buy more. We don’t have money, and the situation is unbearable.”
Malam Isa Musa, appealed to the court to provide for elderly people who can’t fend for themselves.
“We are begging because we have no one to support us. Since the curfew was introduced, we have not eaten anything in the last three days with our families,” he said.
”We can’t continue like this; kindly let the protests stop.”
