My Endorsement Does not Stop Others From Running – Eno

Pastor Eno made the remark in Uyo on Saturday night while fielding questions from reporters about Governor Udom’s decision to support his candidacy, following the launch of a weekly news tabloid.

He advised others who have declared their interest in the race to conduct their due diligence and prepare for the party primary, which would determine the party’s flag bearer.

He emphasized that Akwa Ibom requires a Governor who will sustain the current administration’s achievements, and he cautioned the people against making decisions that will erode the state’s gains thus far.

“Everyone who complained today was actually looking for Governor Emmanuel’s endorsement, and the Governor can only endorse one person,” he said.

“The Governor has the right to endorse whoever he wants, and that does not preclude others from aspiring.” He has not prevented anyone from running.”

Peter Eno stated that he has spent his entire life creating jobs and promised to build on the achievements of Governor Emmanuel in the areas of road infrastructure, aviation, and the seaport project, which he described as key economic gateways.

The governorship candidate, who has had a successful career in the private sector with his brand, Royalty Group, has also identified human capital development, intensive rural development, and industrialization as areas he would focus on if he is elected as the state’s next governor in 2023.

“I’ve spent my entire life creating jobs.

Outside of Mobil and outside of government, I’ve been able to create a brand that has employed over 500 people. This is a company that I started from the ground up.

“What we should be asking ourselves and those running for office is, what will you do to address unemployment and food security” Eno emphasized.

The Cleric-turned-politician, who was unveiled and endorsed a few days ago by some PDP stakeholders and Governor Emmanuel, stated that those aspiring to be governor of the state should be concerned with creating jobs and ensuring food security.
