A Nigerian human right activist, Kenechuckwu Okeke has dragged notable celebrities, social media influences, pastors and others who supported the #ENDSARS protest to court.

In a suite filed at a Magistrate Court in Abuja, Okeke laid a complain against a long list of public figures for leading the protests against police brutality in Nigeria.

He claims that his properties were destroyed during the protest and prays the court to force the protest promoters to pay damages.

Mr Okeke claimed in his supporting affidavit that the defendants who used social media and news sources to play active roles in the protest which later turned violent, committed an offence punishable under section 97(2) of the Penal Code Act, C53 laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

The list of defendants include Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Davido and the Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi.

Others are Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz and social media comedians, Debo Adebayo fondly addressed as Mr Macaroni and Maryam Akpaokagi also known as Taoma.

Also sued are Peter and Paul Okoye, Innocent Idibia, also known as TuFace, Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W, Tiwa Savage, Michael Ajereh (Don Jazzy) and Yemi Alade.

Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, former Super Eagles Star, Kanu Nwankwo, a former Director-General, Bureau for Public Sector Reforms, Doctor Joe Abah, Kiki Mordi, and actors, Yul Edochie and Uche Jombo, Feyikemi Abudu, Olorunrinu Oduala, Pamilerin Adegoke, Japhet Omojuwa, Ayo Sogunro and Deji Adeyanju

However, one of the defendants, Deji Adeyanju has reacted to the suit mockingly, while stated that a double petition against the complainant is underway.

He took to his Facebook page to say;

Congratulations to me. I made the list but this charge is an insult to my person. Didn’t they say they were going to charge us for more serious things like terrorism or felony? Buhari and him
Mumu people. #EndSARS jor

I’m personally writing a petition to the Disciplinary Committee against this boy for him to be disbarred as a lawyer. When next they send him on a stupid errand, he will think twice. This document is my proof. VISA BAN petition also ready.
