Following the ongoing massive protests in major cities of the country for the call of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) scrapping, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has briefed President Muhammadu Buhari on the ongoing #EndSARS protest in the country.

This was made known by the President’s aide, Bashir Ahmad, via a tweet on Friday.

Ahmad assured that the President would wade into the matter in the best interest of Nigerians.

“Good people of Nigeria have every right to protest the #PoliceBrutality or anything they see is not going on well. The President was briefed yesterday by the IG of Police, I am very sure action will be taken and in the best interest of Nigerians. #EndSARSProtests,” he tweeted.

The F-SARS unit of the Nigeria Police have been over time accused of human rights violation, unlawful arrests, torture, murder, among other nefarious acts.

Several Nigerian celebrities have also joined in the protest.
