#ENDSARS Protester Pens Heartfelt Letter to CBN Over Frozen Bank Account

A young Nigerian man, Bassey Victor whose bank account was frozen over his participation in the #ENDSARS protest has penned an open letter to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had secured an order from a Federal High Court in Abuja to freeze bank accounts of individuals who supported the protests financially.

The apex bank then instructed banks to place a “Post No Debit” restriction on the accounts till January 2021, following a granting of the request by Justice Ahmed Mohammed.

Good Morning Godwin Emefiele

Your son has enough food to eat, I ate just once yesterday

Your son is sleeping in his room, I’m begging my landlord not to throw my things out

Your son has pocket money, I have pocket drought

Supporting #EndSARS isn’t a crime, unfreeze my accounts.

He added in another tweet;
At this stage I’d be lying if I said I don’t need help. I’d appreciate anything I can get from anybody. Nothing is too small. It will go a long way to help me clear out some debts incurred over the last 3 weeks and also sustain myself for the next 3 months. Please. God bless you
