#ENDSARS: Youths Dares Wike, Protests Against Police Brutality

Youths in Rivers State have defied the ‘no protest’ order by Governor Nyesom Wike as they took to the streets of Port Harcourt in their numbers to join the ongoing #ENDSARS protest across the country.

Visuals show the youths converge opposite the Pleasure Park in Aba Road, where the protest procession began.

The action is in direct defiance of Governor Wike’s earlier directive, stressing that no youth should engage in the protest since the Inspector-General of Police had placed a ban on the notorious criminal police unit.

However, the protesting youths argued that the governor had no rights to order a ban on peaceful protests in the state.

The youths were armed with various placards with varying inscriptions, chanting “End SARS”, in solidarity.

They blocked the busy Aba road, causing traffic gridlock as they protested against police brutality against innocent Nigerians, mostly youths.
