Manchester City right-back,Joao Cancelo has said that he sustained injuries on his face amid assault.
The Portuguese player was reportedly assailed by a gang of burglars who tried to hurt him and his family members.
The 27-year-old uploaded a picture on Instagram on Thursday evening, revealing a cut above his right eye.

The Cityzens held that Cancelo had suffered a cut during a burglary at his residence.
Even so, The former Juventus star has refused to disclose where the incident took place.

Cancelo posted: “Unfortunately today I was assaulted by four cowards who hurt me and tried to hurt my family.”
“When you show resistance, this is what happens. They managed to take all my jewellery and leave me with my face with this state.”
He added: “I don’t know how there are people with such meanness.”
“The most important thing for me is my family and luckily they are all OK.”
“After so many obstacles in my life this is just one more that I will overcome. Firm and strong, like always.”
