Gary who faulted the decision of the Premier league panel argued that if they were to be discreet in their choice, Salah would have emerged the award winner.
He supported his argument with the fact that the 29-year-old attacker leveled on goals with Ronaldo for September.
Salah scored in clashes against Leeds, Crystal Palace and Brentford.
Lineker in reaction wrote on Twitter: “He [Ronaldo] ‘s been terrific, but @MoSalah should’ ve won this….comfortably.”
“I am equally amazed to see Ronaldo clinched the award. Salah did not only scored goals but also made some beautiful contributions with the aid of his agility, strength and speed on the field which should have confered the honor on him. Better still, Rudiger should have been so named!
