Former Manchester City player, Danny Mills has criticized Manchester United’s coach, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer for using Jadon Sancho as a wing-back.

Reported during the week was the Red Devils coaches deploying winger Sancho as a right wing-back in recent training so as to fit into the 3-4-1-2 system.

Enraged, the English right-back said the former Molde’s manager should have otherwise got the best out of Sancho in his usual position as that’s how he shone at Borussia Dortmund.

The 44-year-old Mills, therefore, termed Solskjaer’s decision as ‘almost a sackable offence.’

The Leeds United’s legend branded the conversion of the former Borussia Dortmund’s winger to a defender as ‘ridiculous.’

The England international whose impressive form at BVB had cost United a £75million transfer fee in the summer has now failed to find his feet at the new club.

The 21-year-old so far has made 8 appearances under Solksjaer, who has prioritized other attackers including Cristiano Ronaldo, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani over him.

Mills joked to Football Insider: “Good luck turning him into a wing-back!”

“He didn’t play for England too much in the Euros because I don’t think he was reliable enough to track back and do the defensive side of it. Dortmund never played him there.”

“You bought a winger who is going to create chances and score goals. Suddenly you’re going to play him at wing-back in an unbelievably leaky defence. It s like, really?

He added: “That’ s almost a sackable offence in itself.”

“Shall we put Cristiano Ronaldo at centre-half because he can head a ball? I think Ronaldo can head the ball better than the centre-halves at the moment so should they put him at centre-half?”
