Newcastle United are on the brink of bringing in former Super Eagles defender, Michael Emenalo as their new Director of football.

According to the Sun, though, nothing is yet to be concluded yet, the Magpies are eager to appoint the 56-year-old.

The current director of football at Ajax, Marc Overmars as well as the Former Rangers transfer chief, Frank McParland are also been heavily linked with the task.

However, the former director of football of Chelsea and AS Monaco appear to be the best to fill the vacancy.

The Aba-born gaffer’s contribution knows no measure at Chelsea to have been held in high esteem.

He was the one who created the Club’s famous youth academy and was the team’s assistant from 2010-2011 before he became the club’s technical director in 2011.

After parting ways with the Blues in 2017, Emenalo became AS Monaco’s technical director that same year and relinquish the position in 2019.

Newcastle recently appointed Eddie Howe as their new boss to replace Steve Bruce, who was fired few days after a Saudi Arabian-led consortium purchased the club last month.
