Liverpool have secured the signing of Moises Caicedo, the Brighton midfielder, in a British-record deal worth £110 million, leaving Chelsea frustrated as they miss out on the Ecuador star.

Reports indicate that Liverpool managed to outmanoeuvre Chelsea in the race for Caicedo’s signature, finalizing an impressive British record agreement and snatching the player from under Chelsea’s nose.

Liverpool is currently in talks with the player over personal terms, and a medical examination is scheduled for Friday.

Klopp

Jurgen Klopp, the manager, is reportedly eager to have a conversation with Caicedo before his pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League opener against rivals Chelsea.

The spotlight this summer has been on Liverpool’s midfield restructuring, particularly following the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to the Saudi Pro League.

Caicedo will be joining Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, bolstering Klopp’s options and potentially providing more contentment with the team’s summer transfer activities.

The upcoming Premier League showdown between Chelsea and Liverpool, set for Saturday, gains even more significance due to the transfer battle for Caicedo.

In addition to Caicedo, Chelsea also made a bid for Romeo Lavia, a player on Klopp’s radar.

It remains to be seen if Mauricio Pochettino will now pursue a deal for the Southampton midfielder.
