Says ADC is “the most dedicated platform” after weeks of consultations
Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-Governor of Edo State, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Oyegun, a key figure in the 2013 merger that birthed the APC, was formally registered on Tuesday at the party’s secretariat in Benin City, where he was presented with his ADC membership card by the Edo State Chairman, Kennedy Odion.
Odion described Oyegun as a “master of coalition-building”, citing his role in uniting opposition forces that defeated former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

“He has put together what is called a coalition before and succeeded. He understands the formula. So doing it again is not a difficult task,” Odion said.
Speaking after his registration, Oyegun declared ADC as the best platform for rescuing Nigerians from hardship.
“We consulted widely with about seven political parties. After a rigorous process, we settled for ADC as the party most committed to the welfare of Nigerians. It’s time to restore hope,” he said.
