Former Anambra State governor and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has been arrested in Abuja and is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The development was confirmed late Wednesday through a statement issued by his former media aide, Fred Chukwulobe, who debunked circulating claims that the ex-minister had been kidnapped.

According to him, “Former Governor of Anambra State and immediate past minister of labour and employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, is with the EFCC. More details later.”
Ngige has been in the news in recent days after armed men attacked his convoy in Anambra State, although he was not inside the vehicle at the time.
