BREAKING: Ex-Ogun Governor, Ekundayo Opaleye Dies | Daily Report Nigeria

Major General Ekundayo Babakayode Opaleye, a former military governor of old Ogun State, is dead.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that Opaleye died on Saturday morning in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

His demise was attributed to a heart attack.

Opalyeye was military governor old Ondo State (before the creation of present-day Ekiti State) from August, 1986 to December, 1987, during the regime of Military President, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

He succeeded Admiral Mike Akhigbe of before later handing over to Commodore Olabode George.

Until his death, Opaleye was the Balogun Erunmu of Owu, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
